In partnership with Glace Bay, Ring 73 Membertou opened its doors in 2008 and has witnessed tremendous success. The Club is serving up to 30 youth and adult members and they are benefiting greatly from the disciplined work-outs. The Membertou Band Council and the community are pleased to see their children and young adults take an interest in this type of physical activity. Since the partnership was formed, Ring 73 has seen several amateur boxers fighting out of the Membertou Club.

Ring 73 Glace Bay is located in New Aberdeen - The Hub. The Ring has been in existence for over 30 years and has a long history of helping youth in need. These kids, who may have been headed down a troubled path, instead have chosen a life of discipline and respect for themselves and others. Hundreds of boys and girls have participated in the Ring's boxing and fitness programs, staying in great shape, keeping off the streets and away from the lure of drugs and alcohol.

Over the years there have been many success stories. Past Club members went on to be teachers, police officers, professional soldiers and tradespeople. Many times, the comment comes back from them - "If it wasn't for the coaches and trainers at Ring 73, I may not be where I am today."
